Stuttgart researchers have 3D-printed a gas-turbine fuel injector that works despite the rough surfaces left by laser powder-bed fusion, by miniaturising an aircraft-turbine atomisation principle. Lab tests burned hydrogen, kerosene, methanol, natural gas and e-fuels with low emissions; DLR will help build a multi-fuel test rig.
