Range Rover Sport Electric: Flagship Powertrain, From £109,810

JLR has unveiled the Range Rover Sport Electric, a performance SUV that shares its platform and powertrain with the pricier flagship Range Rover Electric but costs less. Two 260 kW motors produce up to 550 PS and 850 Nm; 0–60 mph takes 4.3 seconds. A 118.5 kWh battery is rated for up to 374 miles on WLTP, and the 800-volt architecture adds 136 miles in 10 minutes. Prices start at £109,810, with no US pricing yet.

Researchers at Northeastern University, working with Consumer Reports, examined 21 late-model vehicles from 17 automakers and 30 companion apps. Nineteen of the 21 vehicles sent traffic to at least one third party, and seven of the 30 apps shared sensitive data — including VIN, email, phone numbers and precise location — with tracking and advertising firms. Pairing an app with its car roughly doubled exposure to ad and tracking companies.

FTAPI says the platform, customer systems and exchanged data were not affected, that it has filed a criminal complaint, and that forensic work continues. Its clients include public authorities, hospitals and industrial firms, with more than a million users across 2,000 companies. The gang's leak-site entry carries a countdown of several days.
