Samsung has unveiled three distinct foldable smartphones at its Galaxy Unpacked event, led by the premium Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra — a book-style device with a crease-free display — alongside the mainstream Fold8 and the compact Z Flip8.
All three devices share a major new feature: Agentic AI, Samsung's on-device AI system that can autonomously perform tasks across apps. Unlike previous AI assistants that required explicit user prompts, Agentic AI proactively manages schedules, curates notifications based on context, controls smart home devices, and can execute multi-step workflows like booking travel or ordering groceries.
Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra The flagship of the lineup, the Fold8 Ultra, features a 7.8-inch inner display that Samsung claims is completely crease-free thanks to a new ultra-thin glass and polymer layer. The device is also thinner and lighter than its predecessor, at 12.1mm folded and 239g. It packs a 200MP main camera, a Snapdragon Gen 5 Elite chip, and a 5,500mAh battery.
Galaxy Z Fold8 The standard Fold8 retains the 7.6-inch display but improves hinge durability with a new dual-rail structure rated for 500,000 folds. It uses the same Snapdragon Gen 5 Elite processor but has a slightly smaller battery at 5,000mAh and a 108MP camera system. The price comes in at $200 less than the Ultra.
Galaxy Z Flip8 The Z Flip8 retains its compact clamshell design with a 3.9-inch cover display that now runs full Android apps. The main 6.9-inch display gets an adaptive 120Hz LTPO panel and improved under-display camera.
Pricing and Availability Pre-orders begin today with general availability starting August 1. Prices start at $1,999 for the Fold8 Ultra, $1,799 for the Fold8, and $1,099 for the Z Flip8.
