MagicPort, a Singapore-based maritime technology startup, has raised $3 million in a pre-seed funding round to consolidate the fragmented operational workflows of global port calls onto a single platform.
Founded in 2021 by Azerbaijani entrepreneurs Ali Gara and Tural Aliyev, MagicPort targets the operational processes that occur when a vessel arrives at port for loading, unloading, resupply, inspection, or other services. Despite global trade relying overwhelmingly on maritime transport, much of the industry's operational coordination still runs on spreadsheets, email chains, and manually shared documents.
The platform offers ship tracking, task coordination, document management, expense tracking, and real-time operational information sharing — all within one system. MagicPort is also developing AI-powered tools for automating administrative workflows and analyzing maritime data. The company says it now serves more than 300 companies across over 80 countries.
The funding round was led by INMerge Ventures, Sturgeon Capital, Hustle Fund, Everywhere Ventures, Transport Capital, Caucasus Ventures, and maritime investor Scorpa Pranedya. Caucasus Ventures, based in Azerbaijan, was an early backer.
The founders bring significant industry experience: Gara previously worked at BP, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, and the International Finance Corporation, while Aliyev co-founded ITCity and led the development of DiVOC, a hardware and software solution that facilitated remote education during COVID-19.
