Google DeepMind released Gemini 3.7 Flash on August 13, 2026 — just three weeks after 3.6 Flash — positioning it as the company's most intelligent workhorse model for coding and agentic workflows. The quick cadence, Google said, is "a direct result of developer feedback and algorithmic innovations."

The model posts substantial jumps over 3.6 Flash where it matters for developers: on FrontierCode 1.1 Main it scores 43.6% versus 34.4% for production-code quality, and on the long-horizon software engineering benchmark DeepSWE v1.1 it reaches 65.3% versus 49.0%. In web development it improves its WebDev Arena Elo to 1588 (from 1538), and for knowledge-dense fields such as finance, law and biosciences, it more than doubles on the GDP.pdf document-comprehension benchmark (34.0% vs 22.0%) and nearly doubles on AutomationBench (30.4% vs 17.0%).

Pricing is the other headline: an introductory rate of $0.75 per million input tokens and $3.75 per million output tokens through December 31, 2026 — half the original 3.6 Flash price. From January 1, 2027, pricing steps up to $1.50/$7.50 per million tokens. Google frames the combination of better accuracy and lower cost as enabling "production-ready agents at scale," and early customers including Box, Databricks, Harvey, LangChain and Pydantic are quoted in the announcement.

Gemini 3.7 Flash also begins powering Gemini Spark, Google's 24/7 personal agent for AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in more than 160 countries, improving its tool use across Google Workspace apps. Developers can access the model today via the Gemini API in Google AI Studio and Android Studio, through agent-first workflows in Google Antigravity, and enterprises can reach it through the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform and the Gemini Enterprise app.

On safety, Google says the model ships with updated safeguards against misuse in chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear domains and cyber offense, in line with its bioresilience and cyber programs. The release lands as Google's Gemini app crosses 1 billion monthly users — its fastest-growing product ever — and as the AI model market enters its most competitive stretch of the year.
