The global AI infrastructure buildout reached a new milestone: Firebird, an emerging AI cloud company, has launched the CIS region's largest AI factory in Armenia. The facility in Hrazdan is powered by NVIDIA accelerated computing and Dell Technologies high-performance AI infrastructure.
Attending the opening ceremony were Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Kazakhstan's Deputy Prime Minister Zhaslan Madiyev, and U.S. chargé d'affaires David Allen. Firebird plans to deploy more than 70,000 NVIDIA Rubin and Blackwell GPUs and 300 megawatts of AI infrastructure capacity in Armenia by the end of 2027.
"Our ambition for what we are building in the next 2 years or so is roughly 2 gigawatts of capacity around the world," said Alexander Yesayan, co-founder of Firebird. The factory is built on the NVIDIA DSX platform, which integrates accelerated computing, networking, power and cooling as one codesigned system — running up to 40% more GPUs on the same footprint.
NVIDIA also intends to invest in the company, following an earlier investment by CoreWeave this year. Early customers include Perplexity. Delivered in just over six months, the Armenia factory anchors a roughly 2-gigawatt roadmap spanning Kazakhstan and additional markets.
