Dyson has launched the Nurovi line, its newest range of robot vacuums and the company's first to use lidar laser-precision navigation. The previous generation relied on HD cameras, which the company says limited navigation accuracy.
The Three Models
- Dyson R1 Nurovi Dry ($550): A vacuum-only robot with lidar navigation and Dyson's Twin-Capture System. - Dyson R2 Nurovi Wash+Dry ($700): A vacuum-mop hybrid with 21,000 Pa suction, triangular mop pads, and lidar navigation. Available exclusively through Costco. - Dyson R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub UV ($1,200): The flagship model with 30,000 Pa suction, UV lighting for stain detection, and AI that identifies up to 200 types of household substances.
Context
The launch comes as the robot vacuum market intensifies, with competitors like iRobot, Roborock, Ecovacs, and Narwal all competing at various price points.
