The 2nd World Humanoid Robot Games concluded in Beijing on August 26, delivering a stunning display of how fast humanoid robotics is advancing. The highlight: a humanoid robot cleared 2.88 meters in the high jump, nearly triple last year's best of 95.64 cm.

Across nine disciplines, robots competed in 1,301 sessions. Competition times were slashed dramatically: the 100m dropped from three minutes to one minute, the 400m from 15 minutes to five minutes. Most events now require full autonomy, a major shift from remote-controlled approaches.

Robot football demonstrated new capabilities with dribbling, powerful shots, and diving saves. Dancesport entries surged from 29 to 108 teams. The Games featured 666 teams and 2,056 robots, more than double last year's field.
