SpaceXAI — the rocket company's AI arm — is joining the Omacom Foundation as a Founding Corporate Patron and donating $1.5 million in Grok tokens to Omarchy, the Arch-based Linux distribution created by David Heinemeier Hansson. The tokens will be used to run automated agents that "build, review, and fix" the project, according to the foundation's announcement.
The immediate beneficiary is Omabot, a bot that reviews incoming pull requests. Omarchy says it is closing in on 7,000 PRs from more than 550 contributors, and that "Grok 4.7 and beyond" will help process the backlog. Hansson's teams will also draw on the token pool for bug hunting, theme work and hardware ports.
SpaceXAI joins Meta Superintelligence Labs, DigitalOcean and Alibaba Cloud as founding patrons, bringing total backing for Omarchy to roughly $23.2 million — a remarkable sum for a project that the announcement notes "started as a pile of dotfiles."
The partnership also stacks two controversial figures. Hansson has drawn criticism for blog posts promoting anti-immigration views, and previous corporate contributors including 1Password and Cloudflare have been questioned over their support. Cloudflare CEO Matthew Prince told The Verge's Decoder podcast that he did not think it was his job to "police different people's political beliefs."
