Porsche AG has struck one of the largest enterprise AI deals in automotive history, signing a five-year partnership with India's Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) worth €1.25 billion ($1.5 billion).

Under the agreement announced Monday, TCS will deploy artificial intelligence across Porsche's engineering, manufacturing, operations, and customer experience functions. The deal also includes the sale of Porsche's Germany-based consulting unit, MHP Management- und IT-Beratung GmbH, to TCS for an enterprise value of €320 million.

The partnership represents a significant bet by the luxury sports carmaker on AI-driven transformation at a time when the automotive industry is racing to integrate intelligent systems into every aspect of production and design. TCS, India's largest IT services company, will help Porsche build AI capabilities across its core business functions.

The acquisition of MHP gives TCS a stronger foothold in the European automotive consulting market. MHP has long served as Porsche's in-house consulting arm, advising on IT strategy and digital transformation. Under TCS ownership, the unit will continue operating from Germany while gaining access to the Indian firm's global AI and engineering resources.

The deal comes as Volkswagen Group, Porsche's parent company, accelerates its broader AI and software strategy across its portfolio of brands.
