OpenAI began rolling out GPT-6 to ChatGPT users on 7 October, pairing the new model with a feature it calls Intelligent UI. Instead of answering in paragraphs, ChatGPT can now reply with charts, side-by-side comparisons, forms and buttons, picking a format to fit the question. The company says users can also have it build small tools inside the conversation — a savings calculator, say, or a simple game — and then use them directly.

Access is split by plan. Paid tiers (Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise) get GPT-6 Sol; Free and Go users get GPT-6 Luna from 8 October, and on Enterprise plans availability also depends on administrator settings. OpenAI says the model can respond while it is still 'thinking', which it claims cuts waiting time by 44 percent, and that GPT-6 outperformed its predecessor on difficult web-search tasks in internal tests.

The move follows Google, which shipped a comparable visual-answer interface to Gemini in May. For OpenAI, Intelligent UI is less a single feature than a bid to turn the chat window into a surface that generates dashboards, calculators and mini-apps on demand — an interface layer the company controls. It is being marketed as ChatGPT's biggest interface change since launch.
