OpenAI has rolled out voice-activated agent features for ChatGPT on mobile devices, enabling users to complete multi-step tasks using spoken commands. The update, reported by Turkish tech outlet Webrazzi on September 24, 2026, expands ChatGPT's evolving agent capabilities into the voice-first mobile experience.
The new functionality allows users to speak complex, multi-step instructions to ChatGPT, which can then execute tasks autonomously — such as making reservations, searching and comparing products, or performing workflow actions across apps. This brings OpenAI's agent framework, which has been developing through desktop and API channels, into a consumer-facing mobile voice interface.
The voice agent feature builds on OpenAI's existing advanced voice mode for ChatGPT, which has been available since late 2024. By layering agent capabilities on top of voice interaction, OpenAI is converging two major AI trends: conversational interfaces and autonomous task execution.
The move positions ChatGPT more directly against Google's Gemini assistant and Apple's Siri, both of which are incorporating deeper AI agent capabilities. Voice-driven agents represent a potential shift in how users interact with AI — moving from text-based prompting to ambient, conversational task delegation.
The feature is rolling out to ChatGPT mobile users, with availability potentially varying by region and subscription tier.
