Meta Superintelligence Labs unveiled Muse Spark 1.1 on Thursday, a major upgrade to its flagship AI model that pushes the frontier of agentic, coding, and multimodal reasoning.
The model arrives with a 1-million-token context window — enough to process entire codebases, long documents, or extended conversations in a single session. It is available today in "Thinking" mode on Meta AI and meta.ai, and for the first time, developers can access it through a public preview of the new Meta Model API.
Agentic Capabilities
Muse Spark 1.1 excels at planning and orchestrating complex tasks across multiple external apps and services. It zero-shot generalizes to new native tools, MCP servers, and custom skills. The model can manage multi-agent systems — acting as a main agent that gathers context, makes a plan, and delegates execution to parallel subagents, or serving as a subagent that knows when to escalate back.
Coding Breakthroughs
Coding performance improved substantially on real-world tasks involving large, complex codebases. Muse Spark 1.1 can diagnose and fix complex bugs, implement new features in enterprise-grade systems, and execute large code migrations. On Meta's internal coding evaluation, the model significantly improves upon Muse Spark and is competitive with leading alternatives.
Multimodal Excellence
The model combines visual perception, audio understanding, and tool use in a single architecture. It can inspect images and video, preserve details across long workflows, and use those details while operating computers on the user's behalf.
Safety and Pricing
Meta conducted extensive safety evaluations following its Advanced AI Scaling Framework. The Muse Spark 1.1 API is priced at $1.25 per million input tokens and $4.25 per million output tokens, positioning it competitively against GPT-5.5 and Claude Opus 4.8 on agentic benchmarks.
"What's most impressive about Muse Spark is how much it packs into one model," said Amjad Masad, CEO of Replit. "Massive million-token context, full multimodal support, built-in search with citations, strong reasoning, top-tier coding abilities — all in a clean OpenAI-compatible package."
