Meta is opening early access to a batch of new features for its Muse AI app, following the announcements made at its Connect 2026 developer conference this week.
The new capabilities include a digital avatar for Muse that users can video chat with, an expanded Mac app that will soon control the user's computer to complete tasks, deeper shopping partnerships and connectors, and an integration with Meta's AI glasses line so users can interact with Muse by speaking a wake word.
Unlike typical beta programs that A/B test with randomized groups, Meta is asking AI enthusiasts to explicitly request access by asking Muse directly — a prompt shared on X by the Muse account. The strategy targets power users who already use multiple AI apps and agents, giving Meta early feedback from a market-aware audience.
Muse has been gaining traction as Meta's primary consumer AI assistant, and the Connect announcements signal Meta is investing heavily in positioning it as a multi-platform agent that spans phones, computers, and wearable glasses.
