Moonshot AI's Kimi K3, described as the company's most capable open-weight model, is now generally available on Amazon Bedrock. The model combines native vision capabilities with a 1-million-token context window, making it one of the longest-context models available through a major cloud provider.
Kimi K3 reports approximately 2.5x improvement in scaling efficiency over its predecessor Kimi K2. The model runs within Bedrock's existing security and compliance framework, giving enterprise customers access to a frontier-class model without managing separate infrastructure.
The launch is part of a broader trend of Chinese AI models gaining traction on Western cloud platforms. Moonshot AI, based in Beijing, has been positioning Kimi as a competitive alternative to models from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google, particularly for tasks requiring very long context windows.
Security researchers have noted that Kimi K3, as an open-weight frontier model, changes the economics and observability of AI security — it doesn't invent new attack techniques, but makes existing ones more accessible. The model is available now through Amazon Bedrock in regions where Bedrock is supported.
