Huawei Technologies faces federal charges in Brooklyn for bank fraud related to its Iran business and conspiracy to steal trade secrets. The trial began Tuesday with jury selection.

Charges include lying about North Korea business, violating Iran sanctions by supplying surveillance technology used against 2009 Tehran protesters, money laundering, and obstruction of justice.

The case stems from 2018 arrest of CFO Meng Wanzhou in Vancouver. She spent three years under house arrest before 2021 deal with US authorities. If convicted, Huawei faces hundreds of millions in fines. The company pleaded not guilty.
