Decade, an AI-native wealth advisory company founded by former Nubank CTO Vitor gymnasio and colleagues, has raised $85 million in what it says is Latin America's largest-ever seed round. The round was led by Greenoaks, with participation from Benchmark, Diffusion, and other investors.

The startup is emerging from stealth with a bold promise: to create a new generation of millionaires in a region where sophisticated financial advice has traditionally been reserved for the ultra-wealthy. Decade's platform uses AI to deliver institutional-quality wealth management — including tax optimization, estate planning, and investment strategy — to mass-affluent and upper-middle-class clients who currently have few good options.

Latin America presents a unique opportunity for AI-driven financial services. The region has a rapidly growing class of professionals and entrepreneurs with investable assets, but the wealth management industry has largely ignored them, focusing instead on high-net-worth individuals. Traditional advisory firms require minimum account sizes that exclude the majority of potential clients.

Decade's approach is to use AI to dramatically reduce the cost of delivering personalized financial advice, making it economically viable to serve clients with smaller portfolios. The platform combines automated portfolio management with AI-generated financial plans that adapt to changing market conditions and personal circumstances.

The founders' pedigree is a key draw for investors. Nubank, Latin America's largest digital bank, proved that technology-first financial services can win in the region at massive scale. Decade is betting that the same playbook — stripping out physical infrastructure, using AI to automate complex processes, and pricing aggressively — can work for wealth management.

The $85 million will fund hiring across engineering, compliance, and financial advisory roles, as well as regulatory approvals in key Latin American markets. The company plans to launch first in Brazil before expanding to Mexico and Colombia.
