Anthropic announced today the most significant compute commitment in its history, a multi-gigawatt partnership with Google and Broadcom for next-generation TPU capacity expected to come online starting in 2027. The deal will power Anthropic's frontier Claude models and help meet extraordinary customer demand worldwide.

The announcement accompanies extraordinary growth numbers. Anthropic's annualized revenue run rate has surpassed 30 billion dollars, up from approximately 9 billion at the end of 2025, more than tripling in under a year. The number of enterprise customers spending over 1 million dollars annually has exceeded 1,000, doubling in less than two months.

We are making our most significant compute commitment to date to keep pace with our unprecedented growth, said Krishna Rao, CFO of Anthropic. The vast majority of the new compute will be sited in the United States, expanding on Anthropic's November 2025 commitment to invest 50 billion dollars in American computing infrastructure.

Anthropic trains and runs Claude on a diverse hardware stack including AWS Trainium, Google TPUs, and NVIDIA GPUs, matching workloads to the best-suited chips for better performance and resilience. Amazon remains the company's primary cloud provider through Project Rainier. Claude is the only frontier AI model available on all three major cloud platforms: AWS Bedrock, Google Cloud Vertex AI, and Microsoft Azure Foundry.
